Wherever you turn your head, you'll find these signs, big or small.

Look Down!

Wherever you go in Japan, you'll find these so-called manhole, and the cover made in cast iron are different in each area. Each region has its own beautiful design, some are even painted and have name! So whenever you visit Japan, don't forget to look down, because there's beauty below!

Sapporo Once Again

Snow falls in Sapporo, and in the middle of the red district -which happens also the downtown- stands proud this old charming building that I've seen since the first day I arrived. I don't know what it is, and I only had a few minutes to take some snaps before people start offering me some photos of (pardon me) naked women. So here you are, some photos left of my trip to Japan. I posted these  to celebrate the spring that is coming, and the coming 15,000 hits of this blog (thank you! yes, thanks to you!)

Dining Japanese Way

Visiting some Japanese restaurant when I was there, from Kaiseki to Izakaya ( wonder what does that mean? just click the names and wikipedia will provide the answer) the experience were awesome . And the sight were the pleasure of its own.
Izakayas are often called akachōchin ("red lantern") after the red paper lanterns that are traditionally displayed outside izakaya.

Never thought I could miss japanese food so much. 

But wait, eating in Japan that's what I miss the most! :-)

That Coffeeshop

It's just such a coincidence. I don't really like its coffee - it gives me stomachache every time I drink it. Too acidic. But incidentally I took some pictures of Starbucks and I kinda like it. So guys, once again, this is not an ad or such :-)

The Little Fish Market

It's not the kind of any fish market you've been to. It's small yet lively, so clean and inviting. Nijyo Fish Market in Sapporo is 100years old and still as new as it is, filled with impressive specimens of crab as well as an assortment of unusual fish. And the king crab is so big and juicy and sweet!

We bought some little meals just to sample.. The kind merchant served us in a small nice table one boiled hairy crab, and some more shells, served raw with sauce. fresh and tasty. Still i prefer my food to be cooked :-)
