I happened to have a very quick visit to Jogja, still tired of some less night sleep, and must rushing back to Jakarta, but I still need to share some souvenir from this old city for you. So, here you are, some everyday life I've seen from a car.

Always interesting to see becak on the streets somewhere :-)

Becak

Becak, originated from Chinese- Hokkien dialect- 'be chia' (horse carriage), it entered Indonesia circa 1940.  Becak has been part of our history.. at least for most of us who were born before 1990. And how happy I am to find that many cities still  have it abundantly as public transportation.
Colorful, as it could be, seeing becak is seeing my childhood.
