Bandung, Torn & Worn

Old and tired, that's what I see.
But the beauty, be it just a glimpse that remains, stays.

"Growing up in an old city,
you learn history's one true lesson:
that history fades
Nothing sticks together for very long
without immense effort..."

Coco-Nuts

I think I'm mad about coconut tree. But It's beautiful, don't you think?
Coconut is one of the most useful plant on earth, as far as I'm concern.
From its root to its leaf, everything has its own use and benefit for human.
How can't I love it?

Lunch By The Sea

It's not the most superb lunch I've ever had. It's a humble one, in fact. We were invited by a fisherman's family in Singaraja to join them for lunch. And this was what we've got.

Freshly catched fish, grilled. Sambal chili sauc a la minute, mixed with home-made hot coconut oil. Mango salad bought nearby, and warm white rice. Sounds yummy no?
No.
But what makes it delicious is the sincerity, the warmth, their genuine welcome.

Tuak - fermented palm juice to finish the meal...
they bought it at IDR60,000 per gallon, that they'll finish  in a second.

This is the entertainment and companion during the luncheon.
Watching us having our meals, next to us

Life, Otherwise

Living in Jakarta, again as I always remind myself
is not always easy...
Although I wish it were otherwise.

So how do you measure your life?
Still whining and complaining about how difficult you earn a living?
